There are many factors to consider when deciding whether speech therapy is needed for your child. Brooke is happy to connect with you by phone or email to learn more about your child's individual needs. Based on the results of the parent-intake, Brooke will help you to decide whether or not to move forward with an assessment.
HOW LONG DOES SPEECH THERAPY TAKE?
Great question! The length of time needed to complete speech therapy is highly variable and dependent upon several factors. Important contributors include consistent weekly attendance, completion of daily homework practice, severity and number of speech sound errors present at onset of therapy, the presence of physical limitations and stimulability (a child’s ability to produce the sound(s) correctly given direct instruction). After an assessment, Brooke can give her best estimate as to the expected duration of the course of treatment for your child.
HOW MUCH DOES SPEECH THERAPY COST?
Before speech therapy can begin, your child will likely require an evaluation to determine if speech therapy is indicated. Many children are eligible for a free evaluation through their school district or insurance. If coverage is not available for your child, please reach out to Brooke directly to discuss her evaluation and treatment fees. Further, if you have already received an outside evaluation in the last year and have a written report, it is not necessary to complete another assessment.
WILL MY INSURANCE COVER MY VISIT?
Best Self Speech Therapy does not accept insurance at this time, and is therefore an out of network provider. However, upon receipt of payment, a superbill will be provided upon request, that can be submitted to your insurance company for reimbursement. Please check with your insurance company prior to beginning speech therapy to determine if you will receive coverage. Due to Brooke's busy caseload, she will not be able to provide notes or other documents to your insurance company or contact them on your behalf.
DO YOU ACCEPT CREDIT CARDS or VENMO?
Yes! Best Self Speech Therapy does accept credit cards via IVYPAY, a secure, HIPAA compliant system that allows you to enter your credit card information just once at the time of the first session. Subsequent sessions are automatically charged on the day of service. Brooke is also set up to accept Venmo.
